David Jones

David Jones, CPA, CVA

David graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1984.

David is the Managing Partner for the Columbia office. He has over twenty-five years of audit, accounting and income tax experience in private and public sectors as well as income tax planning, research and compliance services for Ribis, Jones & Maresca’s not-for-profit clients. Currently he serves as the firm’s technical reviewer of audited financial statements and tax returns for tax-exempt organizations.

 

David has served as a board member for various not-for-profit organizations and has had frequent speaking engagements regarding accounting and tax issues facing not-for-profit organizations. He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA)and Maryland Association of CPA’s(MACPA).    
                                                                                                                                               


Mario Maresca

Mario Maresca, CPA

Mario graduated from the University of Maryland and has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1984. He has over twenty-five years of audit, accounting, and income tax experience in the private and public sectors, and is currently the Managing Partner for the Largo office.

 

At present, Mario serves as the firm’s technical reviewer of audited financial statements and tax returns for clients in construction, real estate development, and manufacturing. He is active in numerous organizations and speaks at various engagements on accounting and tax issues.

 

Mario is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and Maryland Association of CPA’s (MACPA).
      


Aaron Bloom

Aaron Bloom, CPA, MS

Aaron graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration/Accounting and received his Master of Science in Taxation from the University of Baltimore. He has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1983.

He has over twenty-five years of experience in audit, accounting and income taxes for-profit and not-for-profit organizations. His relevant experience includes numerous audit engagements, management and operations issues involving profit and not-for-profit organizations. He currently provides support in review of all stages of the audit and income tax process and monitors tax compliance.

 

Aaron also serves as an officer for many local, regional, and national not-for-profit organizations, is a monthly contributor to a public affairs radio show on financial and tax issues, and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and Maryland Association of CPA’s (MACPA) and serves on appointed tax committees for both organizations.
                            


Susan Wardrup

Susan Wardrup, CPA, CFP

Sue graduated from Tufts University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and attended Anne Arundel Community College for the courses required to sit for the CPA exam.  She has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1984.  After passing the six required exams, she earned her Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation in 1998.

 

She has twenty-five years of audit, accounting and income tax experience in the public accounting arena as well as income tax and financial planning. Currently, she serves in the Largo office maintaining relationships with the firm’s construction clients, performing fieldwork and reviewing financial statements and tax returns.  In addition, she supervises the preparation of individual tax returns and financial statements.

 

Sue is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Maryland Association of CPA’s (MACPA), and the Financial Planning Association (FPA).
     


Nancy Johnson

Nancy Johnson, CPA

Nancy graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1990. Nancy has significant public accounting experience in the specialized field of tax exempt organizations including labor unions, employee benefit funds, charitable entities, trade and professional associations, and higher education institutions. 

 

Currently, Nancy is responsible for managing all aspects of client service and engagement management including budgeting, supervision of staff personnel, technical review of financial statements, and the preparation of informational returns including the Forms 990, 990-T, 5500 and others.  Nancy has performed numerous audits in accordance with OMB Circular A-133 for organizations receiving federal awards and has a solid understanding of government grant administrative requirements and cost principles. Nancy maintains a close client relationship advising our clients on accounting and auditing issues.

 

In addition to audit engagements, Nancy has made presentations to Finance and Audit Committees and Boards of Directors of non-profit organizations.  Nancy assists in the administration of the firm's audit department, the training of the firm's personnel, and coordination of the firm's peer and quality control reviews.

 

Nancy is member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and Maryland Association of CPA’s (MACPA) and holds her CPA certificate in the state of Maryland and the District of Columbia.
